The Nissan X-Trail 4Dogs has everything required to ensure sufficient welfare of canines to endeavour a comfortable long journey after a muddy walk. The luggage compartment of 445 litres in size has been transformed into a dog haven with a suite of innovative features whereby each redevelopment has been carefully selected to entirely benefit either the dog or the owner.
The dogs are able to settle down into the integrated luxurious bedding, help themselves to a refreshment from the no-spill water bowl or take a snack from the smart dog treat dispenser both easily accessible and safely in transit. After a muddy trip outdoors, the owner has the advantage of washing the dog with the 360° shower compartment, then once done swap for the dog dryer to deliver a jet of air to the wet fur. Pull out the distinctive slide-away ramp so the dogs are able to walk into the boot – allowing the owner to stay completely mud-free – then turn on the drying system supplying warmth into the boot space.
Nissan engineered the X-Trail 4Dogs concept following a survey of more than 1,300 dog owners as conducted by The Kennel Club, the UK’s largest and well-known organisation for promoting dog health and welfare. According the study, over 90% of dog owners transport their dogs in the car for journeys lasting 10 or more minutes and almost 90% would buy a car boasting dog-friendly features.
Furthermore, the X-Trail is the largest of the three models within the award-winning crossover range manufactured by Nissan, ultimately including the Qashqai and Juke. The X-Trail 4Dogs is available in either five or seven spacious seats, all of which fold to create a flat loading space of up to 1,982 litres.
