Glyn Hopkin is proud to be a part of Sustainable St. Albans Week.

Last week Glyn Hopkin proudly was a part of Sustainable St. Albans week, working alongside the St. Albans Council to promote sustainable energy, food, waste, natural habitats and of course sustainable transport.

Here at Glyn Hopkin we take environmental factors seriously, ensuring that all of our business decisions are ethically placed. Naturally we couldn't turn down the chance to inform people on the benefits of electric and hybrid vehicles!

On display were two incredible Electric Vehicles: the Nissan LEAF and the Renault ZOE.

Our aim was to show how electric vehicles can benefit not just the owner, but the environment as well. Fully electric vehicles can be recharged at various PodPoints and require no fuel such as petrol or diesel, this means that our Nissan and Renault produce zero emissions that harm the environment. With transport accounting for around a quarter of the UK’s carbon emissions, we think electric vehicles are a huge step forward.

The Nissan LEAF has a range of up to 177 miles on a single charge while the Renault ZOE reaches up to 250 miles on a single charge, so you won't have to worry about not having enough battery power to reach your destination.

Certain charge points like the one in Sheffield run purely off of renewable energy using methods such as wind turbines and solar panels for ultimate environmental reasons. Of course, most charging will be done at home which is what adds that extra layer of convenience.

We were glad to stand alongside the St. Albans council and provide a health-conscious alternative for travellers, showing the people of St. Albans that there are environmentally safe motoring options.
