GLYN HOPKIN KIA KEEPS RUNNERS IN TIME

Leading dealer group Glyn Hopkin has marked the run-up to the opening of its second KIA franchise – KIA East London – by providing the official time-keeping vehicle for the Hackney Half half marathon.

The huge event – London’s first major half marathon of the season – took place on Sunday (May 22) and saw tens of thousands of runners pound a 13.1-miles course around the streets of East London and Hackney Marshes.

The leaders followed behind the pure electric, zero emission time-keeping car – a KIA e-Niro provided by Glyn Hopkin for the event and fitted with a giant digital clock.

The choice of vehicle was the perfect fit for the event, demonstrating the organisers’ commitment to sustainability and the environment.

Meanwhile, the partnership was the perfect build-up to the opening of Glyn Hopkin’s second KIA dealership, located in Manor Park, East London, just off the North Circular on the Romford Road.

Expected to open in June the centrepiece of the new dealership will be a stunning six-car showroom, with space to display all the models in the KIA range within the brand’s carefully created retail environment.

The showroom will be complemented by a 20-car forecourt, stocked with a range of the latest quality-assured KIA models and a state-of-the-art 20-bay workshop staffed by KIA-trained technicians.

Shab Chowdhury, Glyn Hopkin’s Sales Director, said: “The Hackney Half has grown and grown down the years and is now a huge event that really celebrates the vibrancy and character of East London.

“We were delighted to be involved as the opening of our new KIA franchise will finally bring the UK’s biggest-selling car brand to the East of the city. The KIA e-Niro was the perfect choice – ensuring the runners taking part had nothing but clean air ahead of them as they pushed themselves to the limit.”
