The Celerio Dualjet from Suzuki has recently won a Silver award at the annual Green Apple Environmental Awards, held at the House of Commons.
Judging the competition were 28 members of the Midland Group of Motoring Writers, whose words are read across 400 media outlets in print and on the web. Chairman of the Midland Group, Ian Donaldson said that the event "saluted the greenest cars you can buy" as well as ones you can "enjoy owning and driving."
Beating some tough competition, the Celerio scooped the second prize in the Supermini category. Judges were impressed with its great drive and impressive real world fuel economy with one judge commenting that it offered a "budget price" and was a "roomy car with an easy to drive engine." In support, another judge said that the Celerio Dualjet gave them “more than 80mpg" without trying hard to be economical.
The impressive 1.0-litre Dualjet petrol engine that powers the Celerio offers fantastic fuel economy figures, with 78.4mpg on the EC Combined cycle and CO2 emissions of just 84g/km. Dualjet technology means that the fuel injectors are positioned very close to the engine inlet valves which in turn, allows for a finer fuel atomisation and a more effective transfer into the cylinder.
With its high level of standard equipment, low cost of ownership and generous interior and luggage space it’s no surprise that the Celerio is proving to be a big hit in the UK with over 7,000 sold to date.
The new Suzuki Celerio is currently available at Glyn Hopkin from only £6.999 or from £79 per month, click here for more information.
