Glyn Hopkin Nissan in Romford has confirmed it will be one of a select few dealers in the UK to retail the breath-taking new Nissan GT-R supercar. Following its recent debut at the New York Motor Show, the car is available for pre-order now, ahead of customer deliveries later this year.
Highlights include an exciting new look both inside and out, as well as major performance enhancements. Together these changes represent the most significant overhaul of the acclaimed model since it was introduced in 2007.
The enhanced GT-R features boasts a striking new front profile, with a sleek chrome matt-finish ‘V-motion’ grille, a streamlined bonnet and enhanced lip spoiler to aid aerodynamic efficiency. For the cabin, the entire dashboard and instrument panel are new and covered with high-quality leather. The centre dashboard layout has also been improved and simplified. Integrated navigation and audio controls reduce the number of switches from 27 in the previous model to only 11. An enlarged eight-inch touchscreen monitor features large icons to make it easy to operate.
The car is powered by the responsive award-winning 3.8-litre, 24-valve twin-turbocharged V6 engine that now delivers 570 PS at 6,800 rpm and 637Nm of torque, giving the GT-R true supercar pace. It comes mated to a thoroughly refined six-speed dual-clutch transmission that now features smoother shifts and less noise. The resonance of the new titanium exhaust and Active Sound Enhancement further enhance the driving experience.
The GT-R has always been regarded as one of the world’s best handling machines, and for the new model its cornering abilities have been enhanced by a more rigid body structure and new suspension, giving better stability through quick lateral transitions and affording higher overall cornering speeds. Providing the grip are sticky 20-inch tyres, wrapped around new ‘Y-spoke’ machine-finished forged aluminium wheels.
Despite all the performance enhancements, the revised GT-R is the most comfortable to date, with a smoother ride quality than the outgoing model, and its cabin remains much quieter at all speeds thanks to new sound absorption materials.
Fraser Cohen, Managing Director of Glyn Hopkin, said: “We’re thrilled to be just one of a very limited number of dealerships across the country to offer customers this exceptional supercar. Based on the popularity of the current model and the passionate fan-base the iconic design clearly inspires, we are expecting considerable demand.”
