With World EV Day’s fifth anniversary today, Nissan have released the details of the recently revealed Nissan ARIYA NISMO. The ARIYA NISMO offers an unmatched driving experience. It builds on the regular 87kWh ARIYA e-4ORCE with motorsport-inspired upgrades, ensuring thrilling performance without sacrificing everyday practicality.
The ARIYA NISMO’s sleek, aerodynamic design maximizes the potential of its powerful, near-silent electric powertrain, giving passengers the sensation of effortlessly cutting through the air. New Formula E-inspired spoilers and air curtains reduce drag and smooth airflow over the body, while a front splitter with canard vortex generators, extended lower bumpers, a twin diffuser, and a ducktail rear spoiler significantly lower the car’s lift coefficient by 40%, from CL 0.18 to CL 0.11 compared to the standard ARIYA.
Additionally, the exclusive 20-inch 'NISMO'-embossed ENKEI wheels, paired with Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres, offer superior grip and stability while reducing un-sprung mass and enhancing brake cooling. Using ENKEI's advanced 'MAT Process,' the cast-aluminium rims boast a strength-to-weight ratio similar to forged wheels, allowing for thinner spokes to improve cooling efficiency.
With a NISMO-tuned powertrain delivering a 435 PS punch (429 HP / 320 kW) and an impressive 600 Nm of torque, the ARIYA NISMO goes from 0-62 mph in just 5 seconds and from 50-70 mph in just 2.4 seconds! Its e-4ORCE four-wheel-drive system, coupled with retuned suspension and steering, ensures precision and agility around every corner.
Like all NISMO models, the ARIYA NISMO is not just about straight-line speed. Thanks to significant upgrades to its e-4ORCE four-wheel-drive system, it delivers greater turning and lateral forces than the GT-R NISMO. Drawing from the expertise behind the GT-R’s renowned ATTESA system, the ARIYA NISMO's finely tuned e-4ORCE technology optimizes mechanical grip by adjusting power distribution to each wheel up to 10,000 times per second. With a new 60:40 rear-bias, this setup enhances the driving dynamics, delivering a sportier feel and improving line-tracing performance by 12% compared to the standard ARIYA e-4ORCE.
The suspension has been comprehensively reengineered with updated stabilizers, spring rates, and shock absorber settings, providing better balance, body control, and agility at high speeds. Retuned steering also adds increased resistance and precision as speeds increase, enhancing the overall driving experience.
Additionally, the inclusion of 'i-Booster' technology, which improves braking with advanced regeneration tuning, allows drivers to fully enjoy the NISMO’s performance while maintaining road safety. For added excitement, the ARIYA NISMO features a dedicated 'NISMO' driving mode, making the car even more responsive and enjoyable to drive.
