It’s the small car that’s big on personality and, for the second consecutive year the Nissan Micra has been bestowed the title “New Car of the Year” at the 2019 FirstCar awards, as well as winning the inaugural “Supermini of the Year category. Standard-fit safety technology, affordable ownership and a range of personalisation combinations (100+) make it a very worthy winner.
The Micra has never failed to impress and 2019 is no exception.
It has been updated with two new 1.0-litre petrol engines (100PA and 117PS), a new Xtronic automatic transmission and the introduction of a new N-Sport grade.
The “tech advanced small car” helps deliver driver confidence to new independent drivers thanks to impressive standard-fit safety features and affordable cost of ownership. Bluetooth with audio streaming, USB port and AUX socket – all fitted from entry-level grade – enhance the model’s desirability with young drivers.
All models are fitted with Intelligent Emergency Braking with pedestrian recognition, Intelligent Lane Intervention, Lane Departure Warning and High Beam Assist. Thanks to these important technologies, the Micra is awarded a five-star EuroNCAP safety rating in the UK.
Having won the Car of the Year title at the FirstCar Awards last year, Nissan certainly hasn’t taken its foot off the pedal.
It’s no surprise that the Micra makes a great first car for new drivers.
Available from just £12,875 there really is more Micra for everyone.
