Nissan has reached an impressive new milestone, recording more than 1.25 million electrified vehicle sales across Europe since the launch of the pioneering Nissan LEAF in 2010.
The total includes almost 350,000 fully electric vehicles, highlighting Nissan’s longstanding experience in electric mobility and the growing demand for alternative powertrains across Europe.
From fully electric city cars and family vehicles to Nissan’s distinctive e-POWER technology, customers now have more ways than ever to make the move towards electrified driving.
The Nissan LEAF helped introduce fully electric driving to a wider audience when it first launched in 2010. Now in its third generation, the All-New Nissan LEAF continues that journey with a completely redesigned appearance, advanced connectivity and a driving range of up to 387 miles.
Alongside the LEAF, Nissan’s fully electric passenger car range now includes the All-New Nissan MICRA and Nissan ARIYA.
The All-New Nissan MICRA has returned as a fully electric city car, offering distinctive styling, intelligent technology and up to 257 miles of range. For drivers looking for the space and versatility of an electric crossover, the Nissan ARIYA offers a refined interior, advanced driver technology and up to 329 miles of electric range.
Nissan recognises that every customer’s driving habits, lifestyle and access to charging are different. Its expanding range therefore offers several electrified technologies rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
Fully electric Nissan models are powered entirely by a battery and produce no tailpipe emissions while driving. They can be charged at home or through the growing public charging network.
Nissan e-POWER provides a different type of electrified experience. In an e-POWER vehicle, the wheels are driven exclusively by an electric motor, while a petrol engine generates the electricity required to power it. This provides the smooth and responsive feeling associated with an electric vehicle without needing to plug the car in.
The latest e-POWER technology is available across popular models including the Nissan Qashqai and Nissan X-Trail, with the X-Trail also available with Nissan’s intelligent e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive system. The Nissan Juke Hybrid provides another accessible option for customers who want improved efficiency combined with the familiarity of a traditional hybrid vehicle.
More than 300,000 European customers have already chosen a Nissan equipped with e-POWER technology.
Nissan recently showcased its strengthened electrified line-up at a specialist European media event in Barcelona. The event featured the All-New Nissan MICRA, third-generation Nissan LEAF, updated Nissan ARIYA and refreshed Nissan X-Trail with e-POWER.
The range is set to expand further, with a new compact A-segment electric vehicle planned for Europe later in 2026 and an all-electric Nissan JUKE expected in early 2027. These additions will increase Nissan’s European range to five fully electric passenger cars, supported by the electric Nissan Townstar and Interstar commercial vehicles.
The milestone arrives as demand for electrified vehicles continues to rise. Electrified models accounted for 61.3% of new car registrations across the European Union in 2025, compared with 51.7% during the previous year.
