The new MG4 XPower hot hatchback is gearing up for its public debut, DrivingElectric, AutoExpress and other review channels have so far uncovered the full specifications ahead of its official reveal.
As one of the most anticipated additions to MG's line-up, the MG4 XPower promises to deliver exhilarating performance and a host of exciting features.
The MG4 XPower will come in a single trim and motor option, powered by the same 61.4kWh battery found in the MG4 Trophy. Equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor, this dynamic combination generates an impressive 429bhp and 600Nm of torque. According to the leaked specifications, the MG4 XPower is projected to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in just 3.8 seconds, with a maximum speed of 124mph.
While the performance of the MG4 XPower is undeniably captivating, its efficiency does take a slight hit. With a WLTP range of 239 miles, the XPower model offers slightly less range compared to the standard Trophy variant, which boasts a range of 281 miles. However, the MG4 XPower makes up for it with its rapid charging capabilities. Thanks to 150kW rapid charging, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in a mere 35 minutes.
While no official images have been released, the leaked spec data gives us a glimpse into the design and features of the MG4 XPower. The hot hatch will feature 18-inch alloy wheels, eye-catching orange brake callipers, a twin aero spoiler, automatic LED headlights, and privacy glass. A variety of seven colours will be available, including a striking new 'Racing Green' option.
The interior of the MG4 XPower is expected to maintain the same level of sophistication found in its standard siblings. A 10.25-inch touchscreen, compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, will take centre stage. Additionally, Alcantara sports seats and metal pedals will enhance the sporty ambience. It's worth noting that the rear-mounted electric motor reduces the boot space from 363 litres to 289 litres.
Although pricing details have not been officially announced, it has been mention on various news outlets that there could only be a £4,000 increase over the current MG4 Trophy model, If this is the case, this is supercar performance… at a very affordable cost – watch this space!
