If you have a
disability, the independence gained from owning your own car can be essential.
That’s why Glyn Hopkin is proud to be an official partner of the excellent
Motability Scheme. Working together with the charity, we aim to cover a wide
range of motoring requirements and needs by providing affordable, personalised
Suzuki cars for drivers with disabilities.
Many of the
cars available on the scheme can be yours with no advance payment required,
giving you the peace of mind to choose the car ideally suited to you. What’s
more, our Motability experts will be on hand to give you expert guidance on
choosing the right model.
With a wide
range of Suzuki cars available at Glyn Hopkin, you’ll have no problem finding
something that matches your needs. The compact and durable Suzuki Jimny or
nimble city cars like the Celerio are ideal for city-based drivers and are
purchasable without an advance payment. If you need something larger to
transport a wheelchair or mobility scooter, the Vitara and SX4 Cross are both
excellent choices.
If you receive
mobility benefits you could be eligible for the scheme, which allows you to
exchange your benefits for a three-year lease on a brand new car.
If you are in
receipt of the following, and have at least 12 months’ award remaining, you
should be eligible for the Scheme:
There is no
upper age limit for the scheme, and if you have a disabled child over the age
of three you can claim on their behalf. If you don’t drive, you can nominate
friends, family members or carers who can drive on the contract, so you can
still take advantage of this fantastic and liberating scheme.

Motability Scheme prices will be available from Thursday 4 June. We are gradually contacting customers who are able to place an application with more information. The Scheme is still closed for new customer applications. See our FAQs for further updates.
Although dealers will begin to gradually reopen in England from 1 June, with social distancing measure in place, weeks of disruption mean we are working through a large backlog of both Motability orders, and sales of returned cars. For this reason, we ask for your understanding as we will need to take a phased approach to reopening the Scheme. Please be reassured that the Scheme will support you where possible to help you remain mobile during this time.
As the COVID-19 situation changes we understand that customers have a number of questions. The Motability Customer Services team is currently dealing with a high volume of calls, so we would ask for your support if you are unable to get through to them as quickly as usual.
We will continue to update this page regularly to ensure we cover the most frequently asked customer questions.
Vehicle handovers and new applications
I placed an application before lockdown, when will the handover of my car go ahead?
Handovers of cars that had already been ordered, have started to arrive at dealerships and are ready for dealers to pass on to customers this will start this week, subject to this being done in a COVID-19 safe environment. When your car is ready to be handed over, your dealer will be in touch with you to make an appointment. We expect that delivery of these pre-ordered cars will continue throughout June and into July.
