Renault proudly unveils the ground-breaking Scenic E-Tech electric family car at the 2023 IAA Munich Motor Show. This exceptional vehicle is a testament to Renault's commitment to innovation, joining the impressive line-up that includes the Megane E-Tech, Rafale coupe-SUV, the forthcoming Renault 5, and the highly anticipated Renault 4 in 2025.
Drawing inspiration from Renault's cutting-edge design showcased in the 2022 Scenic Vision concept car, the Scenic E-Tech blends SUV aesthetics with a nod to the iconic monobox style of the Espace and the original Megane Scenic from the late 1990s. Its spacious interior, sustainability focus, and aerodynamic design set it apart from rivals such as the VW ID.4.
The Scenic E-Tech's exterior, crafted by Chief Designer Gilles Vidal, features an impressive wheelbase, enhancing interior space. Sustainability takes the forefront, with 24 percent of materials sourced from recycling streams. "The new Scenic is designed for families and their needs; to travel freely, safely and more responsibly. To reduce its environmental impact, the Scenic has also eliminated all use of leather, paving the way for more sustainable mobility," commented Agneta Dehlgren, Design Projects Director.
Renault has prioritized aerodynamic performance in the design of the Scenic E-Tech to help maximise efficiency. Notable features include air curtains beneath the daytime running lights for enhanced airflow, a sculpted rear spoiler, flush door handles, specially designed door mirrors, and lightweight, aluminium forged wheels in 19- or 20-inch sizes.
Inside, the cabin offers premium comfort and comes in Techno and sporty Esprit Alpine trims. A spacious rear cabin with clever storage solutions ensures comfort for every passenger. The OpenR digital cockpit features a 12.3-inch driver's display and a 12-inch infotainment screen with wireless connectivity. This comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, more than 50 apps including Deezer, Spotify, Amazon Music and Waze.
Renault's commitment to comfort extends to the Solarbay panoramic glass roof. The driver and passengers can choose any of four roof settings: all light, all opaque, light at the front and opaque at the back, and the reverse. Plus, the Scenic E-Tech enhances rear passenger experience with an innovative rear armrest providing storage space, drink holders, and USB-C outlets.
The Scenic E-Tech excels in space and storage with its generous 545-litre boot capacity, folding the rear seats unlocks 1,670 litres of storage. Two battery options offer impressive ranges. The 60kWh offers a range of up to 260 miles and the 87kWh battery offers up to 385 miles of range! Plus, rapid charging capabilities enable a top-up from 15 to 80 percent in around 30 minutes. On the road, the Scenic E-Tech offers regenerative braking options. Safety remains a top priority with over 30 driver assistance systems, including VSPs to alert pedestrians.
The Renault Scenic E-Tech will go on sale in 2024, with pricing details coming soon. Experience the future of family electric cars with the All-New Scenic E-Tech.
