Renault has been recognised as the “Most Exciting Car Brand” in the Cinch Car of the Year Awards 2024, while the Clio E-Tech Hybrid claimed the title of “Best Hatchback” and runner-up spot for “Best Hybrid”.
Renault's all-electric range also shone in key categories:
Sam Sheehan, Cinch Motoring Editor, praised Renault’s innovative year, saying “Renault really found its va-va-voom in 2024, relaunching the iconic 5 model with great success, and promising to do the same with the more practical 4. We’ve rated every Renault we’ve driven this year, including the sensible yet fashionable Clio (our Hatchback of the Year), family friendly Scenic and, of course, the fantastic 5 E-Tech. This manufacturer hasn't missed a beat – and it’s well set to keep up the momentum in 2025.”
Praising the latest electrified version of Renault’s renowned supermini, Sheehan added: “The Clio has been around for decades, but we think the latest hybrid version is more rounded than ever, making it our best hatchback of 2024 – despite facing serious competition. Its handsome looks and efficient powerplant make it desirable for heart and head, and inside, there’s a cabin with a premium feeling and plenty of space. It’s a reminder why hatchbacks are still so relevant in Britain.”
The Clio E-Tech 145 Hybrid, combining petrol and electric power, delivers:
Developed with input from Renault’s F1 team, the hybrid system produces 145 bhp and offers dynamic, responsive performance.
Adam Wood, Managing Director Renault UK, said: “To be awarded “Most Exciting Car Brand” is great recognition of our Renaulution strategy to offer emotive, class-leading vehicles that really capture the imagination of UK car buyers. Clio’s win also underlines how it has continually evolved to meet the needs of today’s drivers, now being more efficient and desirable than ever as a full hybrid.”
