GT-PHEV Concept Showcased By Mitsubishi

Mitsubishi are set to make the world premiere of the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV concept at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. The concept model is powered by MMC’s own advanced plug-on hybrid (PHEV) system using triple motors and supports the “Driving Beyond: Another Step Forward with SUV’s and Electric Power” booth theme.

Alongside the GT-PHEV Concept at the MMC booth will be the Mitsubishi eX Concept, a compact SUV powered by a next-generation EV system, and the 2017 model year European market versions of the Outlander and Outlander PHEV – all being shown for the first time.

The Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept is a superior next-generation SUV that effortlessly takes on numerous road surface conditions with ease. Featuring MMC’s latest design attributes together with MMC’s intelligent and advanced electric and all-wheel control technologies, the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept gives confidence to drivers in a range of driving conditions. As a result, the driver’s curiosity and sense of adventure is brought to life, as they seek to go further and step beyond anything they have ever experienced before.

In its overall profile, the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept projects similarities of a “ground tourer” – a car made for cruising vast land.

At the front the visage is forceful and employs MMC’s Dynamic Shield front design concept that portrays the front end’s function of protecting both people and the car. From the side, the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept boasts horizontal lines to express its high-end SUV styling and vehicle stability.

Inside, the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept features a horizontal dashboard that creates a spacious atmosphere. This is complimented with a higher centre console instrument panel and a cockpit-like wrap around interior. The generous use of Burgundy genuine leather trim and colour coordinated exterior roof colour are just some of the extra touches that further provide comfort and class.

In addition to outstanding environmental performance, MMC’s advanced triple-motor PHEV system delivers superior motive performance to empower drivers or any skill level to confidentially travel new paths through an array of different weather and road surface conditions, for an enjoyable and rewarding driving experience.

This, along with a next-generation high-capacity drive battery package, delivers the punchy performance of the Concept and makes for a comfortable driving experience. The triple-motor powertrain, with one unit at the front and two at the rear, delivers a dramatic improvement in the performance of its full-time four-wheel drive powertain, bringing new levels of handling stability.

Taking technology one step further the Mitsubishi GT-PHEV Concept also adopts the latest in connected car technology which feeds back to the car route information as well as data on weather and road surface conditions.
