Mitsubishi has a lot to celebrate for their renowned Outlander PHEV, which has managed to scoop two more awards for 2015. The best-selling plug-in hybrid in the UK has won the SUV of the Year award at the Next Green Car Awards, as well as the Plug-In Vehicle of the Year by Scotland’s national newspaper – the Scotsman.
After a very successful start for the new Outlander PHEV, it comes as no surprise that the model has now won the SUV of the Year at the 2015 Next Green Car Awards.
Next Green Car is a website dedicated to helping car buyers find, compare and purchase a greener, more economical car. The Awards recognize the greenest and best new cars of the year.
Explaining why the Outlander PHEV was chosen as this year’s winner Next Green Car said that it “excels in many departments” thanks to its “quality interior, up-to-date exterior styling, better than ever equipment levels and excellently balanced powertrain.”
The blend of the Outlander PHEV’s powerful electric motors and petrol engine give it a smooth, soft and sophisticated ride with the potential of reaching 156mpg. In addition, thanks to only emitting 42g/km of Co2 there is no Vehicle Exercise Duty to pay.
On receiving this award Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said that the company was “delighted” with the award and that winning has been “a real testament to both the environmental and financial benefits of our vehicle.”
Mitsubishi’s best-selling game-changer carried on its winning streak winning the Plug-In Vehicle of the Year by Scotland’s national newspaper – the Scotsman.
Praising the vehicle, the Scotsman said the plug-in Hybrid SUV “lived up to its credentials and impressed as a genuinely practical motor.” The title’s Steven Chisholm further commended the vehicle stating that it offered good “material” and “build quality” as well as offering ample space and a “huge boot.”
However, it was the Outlander PHEV’s great fuel consumption and SUV practicality that really made it a worthy winner. Steven Chisholm further went on to explain how thanks to the all electric range of 32 ½ miles, staff would “relish the challenge of hyper-milling the battery” and could do their trips from home to office, and back again without using any petrol at all.
The Outlander PHEV currently contributes for around half of all Plug-in Car Grant applications and is the UK favourite choice of plug-in vehicle, with Mitsubishi having sold over 15,000 of them since it was launched last year.
The Mitsubshi Outlander PHEV is available from Glyn Hopkin from only £249 per month with a £5,000 Government Plug-In Grant. To find out more about the Outlander PHEV and to arrange your test drive, visit our Mitsubishi dealership in Colchester, Essex, or contact us using the buttons above.
