The revolutionary Outlander PHEV was the star turn on the Glyn Hopkin Mitsubishi display at the recent Suffolk Show.
The ground-breaking Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle attracted massive interest among the tens of thousands of visitors to the annual late May event in Ipswich.
Richard Buffrey, General Sales Manager at Glyn Hopkin in Ipswich Road, Colchester, said: "It's an agricultural show so the Shogun and other 4x4s in the Mitsubishi range have always attracted a lot of attention, but this year it was the Outlander PHEV that stole the show. Its unique features and genuine versatility generated a real buzz and a great deal of interest.
"We’ve been coming to the show for several years now and this time the weather was great. It’s great to be part of such a popular community event and it gives us a chance present the Mitsubishi range to a large number of people."
A year after its launch the Outlander PHEV has overtaken every other plug-in hybrid and pure electric vehicle, with sales now past the 10,000 mark. The Outlander PHEV boasts impressive fuel economy and ultra-low emissions, all in a vehicle with the go-anywhere ability of a four-wheel-drive.
Combining electric battery and petrol power, it can travel 32½ miles in electric mode alone – more than enough to accommodate most daily average journey distances.
As well as its official fuel consumption figure of 148 miles per gallon, the Outlander PHEV’s low emissions of just 44g of CO2 per kilometre mean there is no vehicle tax to pay, plus it is exempt from the London congestion charge and also qualifies for the Government’s £5,000 Plug-in Car Grant.
