MG is set to unveil two new electric concept cars at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2026, with the world debuts scheduled for 11:00am on Thursday 9 July. The reveal will be led by MG’s Global Design Vice President, Jozef Kaban, and is expected to be one of the headline moments of this year’s event.
The two show cars will preview very different parts of MG’s future EV line-up. One concept points to a new B-segment electric hatchback due to join the range in 2027, while the second is an aspirational electric design vision that signals another possible direction for the brand. Together, they are designed to give visitors an early look at how MG’s electric range could evolve over the next few years.
MG’s presence at Goodwood will extend beyond the two concept cars. The brand has also confirmed interactive robot performances on its stand, with shows beginning at 10:00am on Thursday and continuing at regular intervals throughout the event. It is a clear attempt to position the stand as more than a static vehicle display, blending electrified mobility with a broader technology-led visitor experience.
Alongside the concepts, MG will showcase a broad mix of current electrified models. The line-up is set to include the all-new MGS9 PHEV, MG4 EV Urban, MG IM5, MG ZS Hybrid+, MG HS PHEV and the MG Cyberster. That gives the stand a useful balance between future-facing concept cars and showroom-relevant models that customers can connect with today.
Two of the most important production cars in that display are the MG4 EV Urban and the MGS9 PHEV. The MG4 EV Urban uses a 53.9kWh battery and offers up to 258 miles of WLTP range, while the MGS9 PHEV arrives as MG’s first-ever seven-seat SUV, combining three rows of seats with plug-in hybrid power. Those details help underline why Goodwood is such a natural stage for the brand’s latest electrified push.
Away from the stand, MG will also take part in Goodwood’s famous hillclimb, which remains the centrepiece of the festival’s live action. The MGS9 PHEV, the MGS6 EV and the MG Cyberster are all due to appear on the hill, giving festival-goers the chance to see MG’s newest plug-in hybrid and electric performance models in motion rather than only on display.
Goodwood Festival of Speed runs from 9 to 12 July 2026 at Goodwood House and is officially described by the organisers as “motorsport’s ultimate summer garden party”. For MG, this year’s event looks set to be about more than spectacle alone: it is a chance to show where the brand is heading next, from concept EVs and production hybrids to hands-on technology experiences that broaden its appeal beyond the traditional motor-show format.
