Alpine is excited to reveal its A110 Sastruga on the world-famous streets of Monte Carlo today, as it embarks on its first-ever active drive at the hands of BWT Alpine F1 Team Reserve Driver and the team’s rising star Oscar Piastri.
Revealed at the Art Paris modern and contemporary fair last month, the Alpine A110 Sastruga is a unique artist crossover between Alpine Cars, its Formula 1 team and renowned artificial intelligence artist, Obvious.
Taking inspiration from Alpine’s sporting prowess, the A110 Sastruga uses the creative potential of artificial intelligence (AI) and algorithms to display a unique imaginary snow themed circuit on the body of the car in an ode to Alpine’s DNA in the Alps. A Sastruga is formed by erosion of snow by wind on a solid surface, marked by wave-like forms.
Further touches of Obvious’ unique work can be seen with BWT Alpine F1 Team during the Grand Prix weekend in Monaco, with artistic displays on the A522 and subtle differences inside the team’s garage and hospitality.
Oscar will drive the A110 Sastruga on Thursday ahead of the Monaco Grand Prix at 12:30 in front of the watchful eyes of his teammates Esteban Ocon and Fernando Alonso.
