The Kia EV9 has secured another major accolade, being crowned ‘Best Seven-Seater Car’ for 2025 at the Parkers New Car Awards. This prestigious award adds to the growing list of honours for Kia’s flagship electric vehicle, cementing its place as a leading contender in the electric and family vehicle markets.

Praised for Range and Technology

The Parkers judging panel, composed of seasoned motoring experts, highlighted the EV9’s real-world range, comfort, and high-tech features, distinguishing it from its rivals in a competitive category that included both electric and combustion-engine vehicles. The Kia EV9 boasts an impressive 300-mile real-world range, utilising the Hyundai Group's advanced EV platform, which offers drivers near-convenient charging times akin to refuelling a petrol car.

Keith Adams, Editor of Parkers, commended Kia for delivering a vehicle that matches the luxury of high-end brands like Range Rover, but at nearly half the cost, saying, “Kia played a blinder with the EV9. It’s as comfortable and well-equipped as a Range Rover, but it costs about half as much."

"To sweeten the deal, it’s built on the Hyundai Group’s industry-leading EV platform which means it has a real-world range of around 300 miles and charge times that are almost as convenient as refuelling a petrol car. It's also packed with party tricks, such as a bi-directional charging function. Such tech allows you to use a portion of the car’s battery capacity to power laptops and camping gadgets on the move using the three-pin sockets in the cabin. That’s great for keeping your kids entertained on long family trips.”

A Key Model for Kia’s EV Line-up

The recognition of the EV9 further strengthens Kia’s reputation as a leader in the electric vehicle market. The brand’s success at the Parkers New Car Awards follows similar wins, such as the Kia EV6, which was named ‘Best Large Family Car’ for 2024 and ‘Best Large Electric Car’ for 2023.

Paul Philpott, President & CEO of Kia UK, celebrated the win, stating, “It’s great to add another award to the EV9’s trophy cabinet. The EV9 is an incredibly important car for Kia and we’re delighted to see it recognised in such a hotly competitive category. Fending off not just fully electric, but also established petrol and diesel rivals, this award is a true testament to the EV9’s versatility and family-centric approach.”

Pushing Boundaries in Electric Family Cars

Launched in late 2023, the Kia EV9 offers up to 349 miles of range on a single charge and comes packed with family-focused features. Available as either a six- or seven-seater, the EV9 includes a host of clever tech options, such as three-pin sockets in the cabin, and spacious interiors to ensure comfort on long journeys. With a starting price of £65,025, the EV9 is available in three trim levels: Air, GT-Line, and the top-tier GT-Line S.

Kia’s comprehensive seven-year/100,000-mile warranty, along with an eight-year warranty for the battery pack and motors, offers peace of mind for buyers, further enhancing the EV9’s appeal as a family-focused, all-electric SUV.

With its latest win, the Kia EV9 continues to solidify its status as a standout model in Kia’s ambitious electrification strategy, which aims to launch 15 new EVs globally by 2027.
