The New Fiat 500!

After selling more than 1.5 million cars, Fiat will now pass the torch to the latest edition of the Fiat 500 to give it an up-to-date style and technology, without sacrificing the iconic 500 design.

The Engine

The New Fiat 500 will be available with a range of Euro 6-compliant petrol engines – choose between a 69HP 1.2-litre, an 85HP 0.9-litre TwinAir and a 105HP 0.9-litre TwinAir engine. These will be mated to either a five- or six- speed manual gearboxes, depending on the model.

The TwinAir 85HP 0.9-litre engine has an official fuel consumption figure of 74.3 MPG on the combined cycle with extremely low CO2 emissions of just 90 g/km!

The engine range will be expanded after launch, seeing the addition of a 69HP 1.2-litre engine in an 'eco' set up and a 95HP 1.3-litre MultiJet II turbo diesel engine – one of the few small city cars to be available with a diesel engine!

The Exterior

Despite over 1800 changes to the design, the identity of the Fiat 500 remains. All of the distinctive elements that made the 1957 Fiat 500 such a huge success have been re-imagined with a more contemporary look and new modern technologies.

The circular headlights from the original 500 have been reworked, and now combined with LED lights create the ‘500’ logo, making the New Fiat 500 stand out, even in complete darkness.

The new model keeps the clamshell-shaped bonnet, a throwback to its iconic ancestor. At the rear, the fog light and reversing lights have been moved to the edges of the bumper trim to improve the light efficiency and are finished in either black or chrome, depending on the model.

The New Fiat 500 introduces two new brand new colour schemes, too – Glam Coral and Avantgarde Bordeaux. This brings the total number of available colours up to 13 - seven pastels, one solid and five metallic.

The Interior

The interior has been brought right up-to-date, with extensive revisions throughout.

Most noticeable is the dashboard, which now integrates the Uconnect infotainment system across the entire range. Taking pride of place in the centre of the dashboard, the new Uconnect system includes FM/AM Radio, remote controls on the steering wheel; AUX-IN and USB ports and six speakers on the entry level models.

Lounge models are equipped with the Uconnect five-inch touchscreen Radio LIVE system, complete with Bluetooth hands-free calling, voice recognition and an SMS reader, allowing users to receive text messages from their friends and family without having to take their eyes off the road.

The new Uconnect system also sees the introduction of the all-new Uconnect LIVE service, allowing users to sync up their smartphone to their Uconnect system and control various apps through the centre console – each adapted to be more user-friendly so they can be safely operated at the wheel. An integrated Uconnect five-inch Radio Nav LIVE with voice-activated TomTom satellite navigation is also available.

A TFT display above the steering wheel allows the driver to monitor data from the speedometer, odometer and trip computer at a glance.

The front seats have been redesigned to be more comfortable, and are available in nine exciting colour combinations with contrasting upper portions and head restraints. Full leather upholstery is now available in Black, Bordeaux or Tobacco Frau Leather, embroidered with the 500 logo.

Further interior changes give the New Fiat 500 a more modern feel – including a new lidded glove box, a revised centre console with repositioned cup holders and 12V power socket and new electric windows.
