The Alfa Romeo Giulietta engine range has been upgraded with improved economy and emissions throughout the entire petrol and diesel range.
The popular 1.6-litre JTDM-2 turbo diesel engine sees a power increase from 105HP to 120HP and a reduction in CO2 emissions – down to 99g/km from 104g/km – thanks to the introduction of a variable-geometry turbo charger and low rolling-resistance tyres. The updated engine is now Euro 6 compliant, and the slight drop in CO2 emissions results in a one percent Benefit In Kind reduction and road tax is now free.
The new engine's top speed is 121mph and it will now accelerate to 62mph in just 10 seconds!
In addition to the improved performance, the new 1.6-litre JTDM-2 engine now returns up to 74.3 MPG on the official Combined Fuel Economy Cycle, compared to the already impressive 70.6 MPG recorded in the current 105HP 1.6-litre JTDM2 engine.
Every engine in the range is now completely compliant with the latest Euro 6 regulations with reduced emissions and improved economy, giving a one percent Benefit In Kind reduction on all engines from the entry-level 120HP 1.4-litre Turbo Petrol to the 240HP 1.7-litre TBi petrol engine with TCT semi-automatic transmission.
Despite the various engine upgrades, pricing for the Alfa Romeo Giulietta remains unchanged. The 120HP 1.4-litre TB Progression model starts from just £18,450 OTR whilst the 120HP 1.6-litre JTDM-2 Progression is priced from £19,500.
