EuroCarBody 2016 Award Winner: Alfa Romeo Giulia

The Alfa Romeo Giulia has won the prestigious 2016 EuroCarBody Award organised by “Automotive Circle International”. Currently in its 18 ^th edition, the congress brings together experts in body design, materials, processes and manufacturing.

Open to all car makers, the annual competition includes a number of workshops in which the most innovative solutions in the sector are presented in detail. In addition to this, the bodies of the competing are meticulously scrutinised during the three-day event by a panel of engineers and experts who asses the vehicle on the basis of over 20 criteria.

Scoring 39.46 points out of a total of 50, the exciting Giulia triumphed over the high-level competitors, demonstrating its true Alfa Romeo spirit. The impressive result was achieved thanks to an efficient bodyshel which is light and rigid in equal measure, and the extensive use of ultra-lightweight materials such as carbon-fibre and aluminium. This, along with a number of innovative safety devices, also contributed to the vehicle obtaining a top five-star rating from Euro NCAP.
