What is Motability? The Motability Scheme enables eligible motorists to exchange their mobility allowance for the lease on a brand-new car from the likes of Fiat. Also included is road tax, insurance, breakdown cover, and selected adaptations that may be required. As such, it’s an invaluable initiative to help those with a disability to maintain their independence.
Am I eligible? In order to be eligible for the scheme, you should be in receipt of one of the various forms of mobility benefit with at least 12 months’ award remaining. These are:
● Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA)
● Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
● War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)
● Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
