Nearly half (47%) of Brits have missed out on seeing their favourite music artists over the past two years, thanks to inflated ticket prices, “dynamic pricing,” and surging demand. Oasis, Taylor Swift, and Coldplay top the list of “out-of-budget” artists, with 42% of fans either unwilling or simply unable to pay the skyrocketing prices to see them live.
London, Glasgow, and Manchester are among the ten UK cities most impacted by these high prices, revealing the growing gap between fans and live experiences in many urban areas.
In response, Dacia, a no-nonsense car brand known for its commitment to simplicity and value, is hosting a free concert featuring the supersonic tribute band ‘Shoasis’ at Protein Studios, London, on the 4th of December 2024. Emphasising “essentiality,” Dacia aims to give fans an unforgettable experience without the sting of unexpected fees.
Powering parts of the gig will be the fully electric All-New Dacia Spring, using innovative Vehicle-to-Load technology. The Spring is currently the UK’s most affordable new electric car, starting at just £14,995 on-the-road.

According to new data, nearly half of Brits (47%) report missing out on concerts for artists they love due to high prices over the past two years. The most-missed artists include Oasis, Taylor Swift, and Coldplay, with some fans willing to pay, but simply unable to afford the hefty ticket costs.
The ten artists most out of budget for fans are:
1. Oasis
2. Taylor Swift
3. Coldplay
4. Elton John
5. Take That
6. P!nk
7. Dua Lipa
8. Bruce Springsteen
9. Harry Styles
10. The Weeknd
Even so, 49% of people admit they sometimes spend beyond their means for live events, with an average of £566 a year being spent on non-essential experiences such as concerts. Almost one in five (19%) blame “dynamic pricing” for keeping them from seeing their favourite artists, while another 42% say they simply cannot justify the costs anymore.
It’s no wonder that Brits are fed up: 58% believe ticket prices shouldn’t exceed £75 for a live concert. With concertgoers already struggling to justify these prices, Dacia is giving back to fans with an affordable event that everyone can attend - absolutely free.
At the “Dacia Spring Gig” on 4 December, up-and-coming tribute act ‘Sham Fender’ will open for headline act ‘Shoasis.’ Lighting and instruments will be powered using Vehicle to Load technology on the All-New Dacia Spring, the UK’s most affordable electric vehicle.
Dynamic pricing’s impact is felt across the UK, with the ten most affected cities listed below:
1. Belfast
2. Glasgow
3. Manchester
4. Edinburgh
5. Brighton
6. Southampton

8. Sheffield

As the debate over ticket prices rages on, a huge 85% of Brits say it’s time for a reform, calling for dynamic pricing to be eliminated and for maximum ticket prices to be introduced. Despite their passion, fans say they’re only willing to queue virtually for an average of 1 hour and 20 minutes to secure tickets, underscoring the limits of what they’ll endure for a live music experience.
Luke Broad, Dacia’s Brand Director for the UK, noted, “In recent years, gigs and events across the UK have reached unfathomable costs, fuelled by resellers and dynamic pricing, that have priced out even the most loyal fans. At Dacia, we strive to offer great value for everyone, and this is at the core of our business. That’s why we’ve launched the ‘Dacia Spring Gig’ with undynamic pricing to give music lovers an unforgettable experience… This time, on us.”
Dacia’s unwavering focus on essentiality and transparency aims to ensure that their customers always receive the best value, free of trick tactics and hidden fees.
