The Car of the Year jury, comprising 60 members, has announced its seven finalists for the coveted 2025 Car of the Year award. Among the shortlisted contenders is the All-New Dacia Duster, a ground-breaking achievement for the Dacia brand, which has reached the finals for the very first time.

After rigorous testing of a longlist featuring 42 models, the All-New Dacia Duster stood out, securing its place as a strong contender for the title.

What Makes a Car of the Year?

The Car of the Year organisation highlights that “technological innovation and value for money are particularly important factors” when selecting a winner. The All-New Dacia Duster embodies these criteria with its forward-thinking design and unbeatable affordability.

Technological Innovation

Built on the advanced CMF-B platform, the All-New Duster features electrified powertrains, including the efficient HYBRID 140 system. This allows drivers to operate in all-electric mode for up to 80% of urban journeys, cutting fuel consumption by as much as 40% in city driving.

The Duster also takes strides in sustainability with the use of Starkle®, an innovative, fully recyclable plastic made from 20% recycled materials, prominently featured in the vehicle’s exterior design.

Inside, the All-New Duster offers clever innovations like Dacia’s YouClip system, which lets drivers customise their cabin with practical accessories, including a smartphone holder and a versatile 3-in-1 cupholder.

Value for Money

Since its debut in 2010, the Dacia Duster has won over more than 2.5 million customers worldwide, earning a reputation as one of Europe’s best-selling B-SUVs since 2018. Now in its third generation, the All-New Duster continues this legacy, offering exceptional features at an accessible starting price of £18,745 for British drivers.

When Will the Winner Be Announced?

The Car of the Year trophy will be awarded at the Brussels Motor Show on Friday the 10th of January 2025.

Stay tuned to see if the All-New Dacia Duster claims the top spot and cements its place in automotive history.
