Jeep has announced they are enhancing the Cherokee range as they introduce the first ever 'Trail Rated' version, the Trailhawk, to the UK market.
The Trailhawk is the most capable Cherokee model with a 3.2-litre V6 petrol engine and a nine-speed automatic gearbox, producing 268bhp and 315Nm of torque. The 2015 Trailhawk is fully off-road capable, fitted with a low-range transmission and Jeep's Selec-Terrain technology with Rock mode.
The 'Trail Rated' badge signals that the Trailhawk is designed to perform in a wide variety of difficult off-road conditions.
Jeep has identified five key categories that will provide the highest levels of performance off-road; traction, ground clearance, manoeuvrability, articulation and water folding.
Active Drive Lock 4x4 system features a rear wheel lock to help keep both wheels spinning at the same time and provide enhanced traction on any service, particularly helpful when rock crawling. The Jeep Trailhawk will have no trouble exploring off road environments with the Selec-Speed control allowing it to drive up and down demanding hills at a controlled, safe speed.
The off-road performance of the Trailhawk is backed up with a no-nonsense look and extensive levels of Jeep Trail Rated equipment. The standard model comes with aggressive approach and departure angles with one of a kind front and rear fascias, a one-inch factory lift, fuel tank, front suspension and transmission skid plates and Jeep signature red tow hooks. A running ground clearance of 22.1cm (8.7 in) allows the Trailhawk to glide over even the most demanding terrains.
The Jeep Trailhawk also comes with features such as deep tinted sunscreen glass, coloured grille surrounds and roof rails, off-road wheel flares and 17-inch aluminium wheels, as well as a unique black bonnet sticker on models purchased after March.
The standard interior equipment will provide the perfect hideaway from the elements with a bespoke Nappa Leather trim, red interior stitching accents, all-season floor mats and a cargo net while the Uconnect media centre with 8.4-inch touch screen display and USB port will allow passengers to play music, find local points of interest and even charge their phone!
Damien Dally, Head of Brand, Jeep UK said: “It's the ultimate Jeep Cherokee in terms of off-road capability and coupled with that powerful V6 engine, nine-speed auto box, a huge list of standard equipment and style touches, and all the versatility of a full-size family car, the 2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk offers outstanding value for money – and a great drive too."
Prices for the Jeep Trailhawk start from just £34,245 OTR with deliveries rolling out later this month!
