Jeep Announce New High Performance Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor Limited Edition

It was announced earlier this week that Jeep plan to continue the extremely successful Jeep Grand Cherokee range of 4x4 vehicles with the details of a formidable new SRT version, the Red Vapor Limited Edition.

The new Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor will be powered by a 6.4-litre V8 engine and will achieve top speeds of 160mph with a 0-60mph time of just five seconds. With this combination of breathtaking performance and an all new muscular sports restyling, the SRT Red Vapor is expected to sit competitively in the sports performance sub-SUV segment of the extremely popular 4WD market.

First unveiled at the Paris Motor Show last August, the Cherokee SRT Red Vapor was praised for its attractive sporty appearance and a veritable feast of features and equipment. A unique exterior coupled with a stylish interior help set off its distinctive high performance image and really place it apart from other sporting SUV's.

With Quadra-Trac 'Active on Demand' four wheel drive, anti-lock SRT performance disc brakes, active damping suspension providing all proving the sports performance aspects, the visuals are enhanced by premium sports styling with body coloured handles, black roof moulding, body coloured sill extensions and wheel flare extensions. The addition of five-spoke 20-inch Goliath alloy wheels and a Black Vapor black chrome finish further enhance the exterior,and the Grand Cherokee badges and bonnet Jeep badge are all in black.

The interior features Black Laguna leather and Radar Red suede seats, complimented by red stitching, luxury front and rear mats and chrome pedals. A leather wrapped steering wheel and gear changer also adds to the classy feel inside the cabin. The SRT badge on the Red Vapor's steering wheel is backlit and grey chrome replaces the previously used shiny chrome.

As far as on board technology goes, the Cherokee SRT Red Vapor has it all! 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen display with integrated 3D navigation, advanced voice recognition and Bluetooth audio streaming and hands-free technology all come as standard. There's also Cross-path detection, adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring and an 825-watt Harman-Kardon audio system with 19 speakers and three sub-woofers.
