Honda will introduce the UK with their cycling special “Active Life Concept” at the 2016 London Triathlon Show.
The concept is aimed at those with an active lifestyle and demonstrates the incredible versatility and load space of the Honda Civic Tourer, as well as proving that style and utility can work together.
Making the most of the Tourer’s class-leading cargo space and its low leading height, the Active Life Concept features an array of innovative storage designs perfect for an energetic lifestyle. An integrated smart loading rack enables transportation of two bicycles, while a retractable arm which can be extended eases bike repair and maintenance. Clever storage solutions such as a toolbox, bottle holder, water tank and front wheel holder all integrated in the boot’s side lining mean you will never forget the essentials, as well as a special aero shape roof box to accommodate shoes and helmets. Other handy tools include a built-in air pump, a large light and extendable shade over the tailgate and a retractable bench, preparing you for all challenges that may come your way.
Outside, the model exhibits a sporty and sleek design, further reflecting the active customer lifestyle. A custom blue paint finish with a lower gun-metallic graduation and silver roofline help accentuate the Tourer’s aerodynamic design, while new 18-inch alloy wheels and a custom design rear bumper further underline its sporty nature.
The customised blue theme continues inside, with blue stitching in the steering wheel and gear shift, as well as carbon tape with blue piping running along the centre and upper outer areas of the seats. Completing the sporty look inside is black roof lining which is also found in the current Civic Sport and Civic Type R models.
On speaking about the new ‘Active Life Concept’, Phil Crossman, Managing Director for Honda (UK) said “This amazing concept takes the Civic Tourer’s already incredible practicality and versatility to another level, with several extremely clever solutions to make the very most of its tardis-like interior space.”
The Triathlon Show will take place at the ExCel London from the 11th – 14th February 2016 and Honda (UK) will be one of the headline sponsors. As well as debuting the Civic Tourer Active Life concept, Honda will also display its entire line-up of new cars which include: the HR-V, Jazz, CR-V, Civic Tourer, Civic five-door and Civic Type R models. Visitors will also be able to experience some of the models first-hand on a test drive track facility on site.
