Honda has once again received praise for its impressive fuel economy by taking home the 2015 Honest John Award for the Best Real MPG Performer.
The award comes after last year's MPG Marathon, when the Civic Tourer achieved an amazing 97.92mpg over the two day test, completely over-achieving against the official combined figure of 74.3mpg.
The Best Real World MPG Performer Award is brand new for 2015, demonstrating the importance that consumers are placing on fuel economy when going through the process of buying a new car.
HonestJohn.co.uk Editor, Dan Harrison, said: “When it comes to real world fuel economy, no other car comes close to the British Built Honda Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC. Practical and spacious, the estate version of the Civic is a winner when it comes to fuel efficiency, with the diesel surpassing all of its rivals. According to Real MPG submissions for the past 12 months, the Civic Tourer diesel achieves an impressive 93% of its official economy rating, with a real world average of 68mpg."
Managing Director at Honda UK, Phillip Crossman, commented: “This award from one of the most significant and relevant buying guides is a fantastic recognition of the capabilities and efficiency of both the Civic Tourer and the 1.6 litre diesel engine."
