The arrival of
the Work Up model has expanded the Doblo commercial vehicle range to include a
capable and compact pick-up that is well suited to the city. In front of the
generous load bed is a supportive cabin, while under the bonnet you have a
choice of hard-working engines.
The Doblo Work Up has the same dynamic looks as the MPV it is based on, and from the front they are indistinguishable. A curving bonnet ends at large headlamps which sit above the two-part mesh grille. Fiat offers the option for 16-inch alloy wheels to boost the model’s aesthetic while side protections strips preserve the stylish body. These modern looks help your business to make a great first impression wherever you take the pick-up.
A total of 4,200 litres can be transported in the load compartment which is ample for a variety of jobs. The marine plywood platform is durable and lightweight with room for up to three Euro pallets. Separating cargo from the cabin is a panelled bulkhead with a window. It is easy to keep an eye on goods when moving, and there’s the option for an added storage compartment in the passenger seat cushion.
The pick-up’s technology makes it simple and therefore more enjoyable to drive. The standard radio/CD player can be upgraded to include an auxiliary port, USB input and Bluetooth connectivity through which you can connect a music device or your smartphone. This enables calls to be made hands-free, while optional steering wheel-mounted controls also allow you to operate the system without lifting a finger. With a 12-volt socket on the dashboard you can charge important electrical devices on the move so they’re always ready for use.
Three of Fiat’s MultiJet diesel engines complete the powertrain offering, and all can be relied on to carry heavy weights comfortably. The range starts with the 90hp unit that produces 200Nm of torque at 1500rpm and ends at the 2.0-litre 135hp diesel with 320Nm of torque at 1500rpm. A 105hp alternative sits between them and each is turbocharged to accelerate confidently. The smallest engine can be selected with a start/stop system and Ecopack, which makes it the most economical. An impressive and rewarding 62.8mpg combined can be returned by the drive system to bring running costs down.
Both satisfaction and peace of mind are delivered by the Work Up as it has been designed for optimum safety. Fiat’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system has been fitted as standard to recognise a loss of traction or any understeer or oversteer and take action to correct them. This puts you firmly in control during testing circumstances but if an incident were to occur you are well protected behind the wheel. A driver airbag features at no extra cost, while the pick-up’s body is rigid and strong.
