Fiat Motability Finance Scheme

Our nine-strong dealership network enables us to support a large number of customers across London and the south-east, including members of the Fiat Motability Finance Scheme. The charity helps motorists with disabilities in the UK to stay mobile and relies on motoring groups such as us to deliver vehicles and aftersales care to members.

How does Motability work?

Should you become a member, you would use the mobility allowance that is provided by the government to pay for a lease on a brand new car. You have the opportunity to upgrade every three years.

What the scheme offers

As well as funding the lease your regular monthly payment also covers a wide range of related services and expenses. They include:

  • Servicing and maintenance;
  • Breakdown cover;
  • Insurance;
  • Annual car tax;
  • Replacement tyres;
  • Window and windscreen repair or replacement; and
  • Selected adaptations.

Am I eligible?

Most disabled motorists will be eligible for the scheme if they receive one of the following allowances and are owed at least 12 months' more payments:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance (HRMC DLA);
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP);
  • War Pensioners' Mobility Supplement (WPMS); or
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP).

If you are the parent or guardian of a child aged three years or older who receives the HMRC DLA you can also apply for funding for a vehicle to use on their behalf. For more information on eligibility please click here or contact your local Glyn Hopkin Fiat Motability Finance Scheme expert.

Why choose Fiat?

Fiat's cars are not only stylish and well-built but also remarkably refined, which means they provide low running costs for their lifetime. As fuel is one of the few costs you will need to cover, choosing a Fiat for your next Motability model makes motoring very affordable. What's more, you can choose from a diverse model family that includes city cars, MPVs and crossover SUVs.

COVID-19 Update 01/06/2020:

Motability Scheme prices will be available from Thursday 4 June. We are gradually contacting customers who are able to place an application with more information. The Scheme is still closed for new customer applications. See our FAQs for further updates.

Although dealers will begin to gradually reopen in England from 1 June, with social distancing measure in place, weeks of disruption mean we are working through a large backlog of both Motability orders, and sales of returned cars. For this reason, we ask for your understanding as we will need to take a phased approach to reopening the Scheme. Please be reassured that the Scheme will support you where possible to help you remain mobile during this time.

As the COVID-19 situation changes we understand that customers have a number of questions. The Motability Customer Services team is currently dealing with a high volume of calls, so we would ask for your support if you are unable to get through to them as quickly as usual.

We will continue to update this page regularly to ensure we cover the most frequently asked customer questions.

Vehicle handovers and new applications

I placed an application before lockdown, when will the handover of my car go ahead?

Handovers of cars that had already been ordered, have started to arrive at dealerships and are ready for dealers to pass on to customers this will start this week, subject to this being done in a COVID-19 safe environment. When your car is ready to be handed over, your dealer will be in touch with you to make an appointment. We expect that delivery of these pre-ordered cars will continue throughout June and into July.
