Specification and pricing for the all-new Abarth 595 has just been announced. Representing outstanding value for money, the Abarth 595 has a starting price of just £15,090 OTR for the 1.4 TJet 145hp Manual.
Heir of the original model launched in 2008, the new Abarth 595 offers a perfect blend of performance, technology and of course iconic Italian styling. Available as hatchback or convertible, the new Abarth 595 is offered in three trim levels: 595, 595 Turismo and 595 Competizione, along with three power levels to satisfy increasing customer needs.
The distinctive yet affordable entry level 595 offers all the standard equipment needed to ensure typical Scorpion enjoyment and driving pleasure.
One of biggest innovations is in the increased power of the 1.4 T-jet engine for the 595 and 595 Turismo models. The first delivers 145 HP and 206 Nm of peak torque, while the second reaches 165 HP and 230 Nm. For drivers who crave racing adrenaline in terms of both performance and technical features then the 180 HP 595 Competizione will be perfect partner.
The 1.4-litre engine can swiftly accelerate from 0-62mph in just 6.7 seconds and safe braking is guarantee thanks to an oversize Brembo braking system with four-piston fixed aluminium callipers. The engine also achieves a specific power of 132 HP/litre as a result of high-performance Record Monza exhaust with dual mode system.
All variants of the 1.4 T-jet engine are paired with a mechanical five-speed gearbox as standard, but there is also the option of an Abarth robotised sequential gearbox with shift paddles if desired.
The new Abarth 595 is the only car in its segment to be fitted with an exclusive mechanical limited-slip differential, for outstanding performance. Available on demand, the Abarth mechanical limited-slip differential features on the 595 Competizione with manual transmission and exploits its full potential.
The mechanical limited-slip differential improves traction in extreme conditions, ensuring adequate torque transfer between the front wheels when either has less grip.
Fitted as standard on the 595 Turismo and Competizione, are Koni FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) rear shock absorbers which optimise the driving experience and safety by improving road-hold, handling and stability.
As well as this, the 595 Competizione also get the same shock fitted as standard on the front suspension, enabling considerable increase in dynamic performance.
In addition, on the top-of-range version is the Brembo braking system with four aluminium monoblock fixed callipers in standard red or optional black or yellow.
The Abarth 595 is also fitted with a Sport button to change different parameters of the car.
On the outside, the new Abarth 595 has introduced an array of new features to help improve performance. The front end, for example, has been redesigned and now has an oversized air intake: this improves heat management in the engine compartment and increase cooling capacity by 18%
Abarth engineers have also worked their magic on the rear bumper creating a more pronounced diffuser. Specific bumper inserts have also been created for each trim level: matt black for the 595, matching body colour on the 595 Turismo and Anthracite grey on the 595 Competizione.
Characteristic features of the new Abarth 595 include new satin chrome trim on the 595 and 595 Turismo, new mirror caps and new side stripes that are now wider and longer to give greater emphasis to the Abarth brand.
There are an impressive 15 body colours on offer including pastel, metallic and tri coat paints along with five bi-colour liveries. The exciting new palette also includes exclusive Modena Yellow, which until now, has only been available on the 695 Biposto Record. Three packs for customising the appearance of the vehicle are also available on demand.
Inside, the Abarth 595 has had a complete revamp with new technical materials and upholstery on the entire range.
A particular highlight is the 595 version which offers specific Abarth fabric seats characterised by first-class lateral support. The 595 Turismo comes with black, natural or red leather seats, while standard on the 595 Competizione are the Corsa by Sabelt seats.
A new flat bottom steering wheel with centre detailing has been designed to ensure effective sporty driving and the much loved dashboard fascia has been specifically characterised for each version.
The innovations continue with a brand new sports instrument panel which improves readability as well as white boost gauge lighting.
All three trim levels are equipped with Uconnect 5-inch DAB Radio with touchscreen and Uconnect Live services as standard with a built-in navigator available on request.
