Renault has taken centre stage at the 2024 News UK Motor Awards, winning three highly coveted titles: Electric Car of the Year, Family Car of the Year, and the prestigious Manufacturer of the Year. The triumph reflects Renault's bold foray into electric vehicles, which is reshaping the UK automotive landscape.

The Renault 5 E-Tech 100% electric was hailed as the Electric Car of the Year, captivating judges with its playful design, modern features, and undeniable charm. This model blends nostalgia with innovation, bringing a fresh twist to the small electric car market. Set to arrive in the UK in early 2025, it promises a driving range of up to 248 miles on a single charge, positioning it as an affordable, eco-friendly choice for urban drivers.

Renault's dominance didn’t stop there. The Renault Scenic E-Tech 100% electric was crowned Family Car of the Year, thanks to its mix of practicality, value, and futuristic technology. With a 379-mile range and clever features like a spacious cabin and Solarbay glass roof, it’s no surprise the Scenic stood out in a fiercely competitive category.

Perhaps the most impressive accolade was Renault being named Manufacturer of the Year. Judges praised the brand’s resurgence, with Will Dron, Editor of Driving.co.uk, commenting, "Renault is the standout carmaker this year, with a product offensive to make rivals weep. The new Renault 5 is a brilliant modern interpretation of a classic that brings fun and colour to the small electric car segment, while the Scenic is a characterful and practical family EV. Both arguably offer the best value in their respective classes. With the new Renault 4 on its way, and updates of the existing line-up, Renault is most definitely on a roll.” This marks a return to form for Renault, which is not only excelling with its EV models but also maintaining a solid line-up of petrol cars like the Clio and Captur.

Rob Gill, The Sun’s Motors Editor, echoed this sentiment, stating, “The old Renault magic is back with a solid line-up of motors – petrol and electric – and we couldn’t be happier. Scenic is the stand-out winner of our Family Car of the Year prize and I’m utterly convinced Renault 5, Electric Car of the Year, is going to win bucketloads of awards from all the glossy mags over the next year or so. It’s a fabulous little car at a really punchy price, and if you’re not ready for electric just yet, try a Clio or a Captur. Money well spent.”

Adam Wood, Managing Director Renault UK, said: “The positive reaction to our new, award-winning electric models is extremely exciting, and is further proof of Renault’s credibility as a leader in electric technology. These latest awards underline how the return of the iconic Renault 5 as a pure electric supermini is set to capture Britain’s hearts and minds, while the Scenic E-Tech 100% electric is already writing the next chapter in family mobility.”

With its innovative approach and a clear focus on electrification, Renault is solidifying its place as a leader in the electric vehicle revolution. For those eager to be part of this revolution, Renault is offering an R-Pass for the Renault 5 E-Tech, allowing early orders ahead of its 2025 release.
