Nissan Motor has showcased the world’s first “Intelligent Parking Car” a concept inspired by their intelligent park assist technology that enables drivers to easily park their vehicles using automatic steering.
The unique “Intelligent Parking Chair” automatically moves to a set position and includes a roller that automatically can move it 360 degrees coupled with a system that indicates the target position. Four cameras are also placed on the room’s ceiling to generate a bird’s-eye view which can then wirelessly send the chair’s position and its route to destination.
Inspired from Nissans latest “Intelligent Park Assist” technology, the base “Bird’s-eye view” and “Automatic Movement” concepts are seen in the Intelligent Parking Chair.
The system of the Intelligent Parking Assist uses four cameras on the car body (front, rear and both wing mirrors) and converts footage from the cameras along with a virtual bird’s-eye view image that allows automatic steering.
The Automatic Parking Chair uses this technology in the same way using four cameras on each corner of the room. The cameras locate the chair’s current position, while the system calculates the chair’s route to return to its original position.
This innovative concept was produced in collaboration with the award-winning creative team BIRDMAN and aims to increase knowledge around the latest technology adopted by Nissan vehicles.
