The Shogun Sport is set to go on sale in the UK early in 2018 following the arrival of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross in January.

The all-new Mitsubishi Shogun Sport boasts complete comfort built for the most extreme family adventures. Portraying the iconic performance of the go-anywhere Mitsubishi Shogun, the franchise plan to further strengthen their SUV production by releasing two high-specification versions.

Said to produce 180hp with a maximum torque of 430Nm at only 2,500rpm, the lightweight 2.4-litre diesel engine is mated to an all-new eight-speed automatic transmission via the Super Select II all-wheel drive system. Standard specification is inclusive of Hill Descent Control, Trailer Start Assist (TSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and an impressive off-road mode allowing choice of driving modes selected to suit a variety of terrain types.

The ‘Dynamic Shield’ visual identity will be integrated into the Shogun Sports exterior with a promising off-road capability imposing stance, ample ground clearance and rugged styling cues. The interior combines space for seven people maximum with outstanding versatility and practicality offering 1,488-litres with the rear seat folded.

More advanced safety features such as the Forward Collision Mitigation (FCM), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Multi-around Monitor System (MMS) are inclusive to heighten the concept of capturing surroundings with a bird’s eye view to promote a more safer and reassuring journey.

UK pricing and full specification details will be announced closer to launch.
