Honda has announced a new addition to their popular British-Civic range. The 1.4 i-VTEC Civic Sport will become the entry level variant in the Civic family and is due to hit showrooms next month.
Specifically styled as a sportier and aggressive version of the family hatchback, the Civic Sport boasts a unique colour-coded rear spoiler and 17-inch alloy wheels, as well as sharing some similar striking design traits of the Civic Type R, such as a lower grille mesh and black roof lining in the cabin.
The advanced 1.4-litre i-VTEC single overhead camshaft (SOHC) engine has been finely tuned to offer the perfect blend of performance and environmental credentials. CO2 emissions stand at just 131 g/km while the engine delivers a maximum output of 100 PS and a torque figure of 127 Nm. This engine joins the already established 1.6-litre, 120 PS diesel engine and the 1.8-litre, 142 PS petrol engine in the Civic Sport line up.
Philip Crossman, Managing Director at Honda UK, said: “The addition of the 1.4-litre engine version of the Sport strengthens our Civic family line up and makes the more aggressively styled version of our popular family hatchback more accessible.”
“The smaller engine makes the Civic Sport more economical and more efficient and therefore a much more attractive proposition.”
The new 1.4 i-VTEC Civic Sort will be available in Honda showrooms from May 2016. Prices start at £18,360 or £199 a month on a three year PCP deal with 5.9% APR and deposit of £3,415.
