A very special handover took place this morning.
Glyn Hopkin customer Mr Dawson has certainly had a Friday morning to remember as he was handed the keys to his very own Alpine A110 Tour de Corse.
One of a kind, with only five set to come to the UK, this very special edition vehicle has one of the richest histories of rallying with its most famous rally car being the A110. Now, the French firm is paying homage to its icon with the limited edition A110 Tour de Corse 75.
When we say limited, we mean a real limited edition with only 150 examples being made, each one featuring a unique numbered plaque.
The car is Inspired by the Alpine A110 that competed in the 1975 Tour de Corsa, which is a standout event in the rally calendar. Just 22 of the 77 teams that entered the race managed to finish, highlighting the challenges the Corsican stages posed. Although the A110 narrowly missed out to the Lancia Stratos on the last leg, it did win an army of fans along the way.
Seeing is believing and it is very difficult to describe such a masterpiece of a vehicle.
Just like the original, there is yellow paint with contrasting black roof and bonnet.
Its front wings feature Tour de Corse 75 badges and the number seven – the original A110’s number on the 1975 Tour de Corse – is formed by the stripes and rear brake lights on the rear bumper.
The car sits on 18inch gloss white wheels, behind which are orange Brembo brake calipers.
Inside, the Sabelt bucket seats feature an embroidered ‘Tour de Corse 75’ logo. There’s also an option to fit competition harnesses to add to the motorsport theme.
The engine is the more powerful 1.8-litre, turbocharged four-cylinder, pumping out 296bhp and 340Nm of torque, which should give it a 0-60mph time of just over four seconds and a top speed of over 165mph.
Congratulations Mr Dawson and we hope you enjoy every moment behind the wheel of your special vehicle.
