Suzuki Swift Sport wins What Car? Award for fifth consecutive year

Suzuki celebrated some great news at the recent 2016 What Car? Magazine awards recently as the Swift Sport was awarded a ‘Best Buy’ accolade for the fifth year running.

The performance favourite for the brand was carefully judged by the editorial team and was up against some tough competition. However, the final result saw the Swift Sport once again come out on top receiving the title of ‘Best Buy Hot Hatch for less than £15,000’.

The Suzuki Swift Sport is available in four standard metallic paint finishes and offers high standard equipment at an affordable price. As standard the Swift Sport is equipped with satellite navigation, DAB radio, auto air conditioning, seven airbags, cruise control, High Intensity Discharge headlamps, rear privacy glass and 17-inch alloy wheels. In addition, it also includes voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity and music streaming with iPod and iPhone – a very desirable package.

What makes the Swift Sport even better is its affordable price starting at £13,999 for three door and £14,499 for the five door model – ideal for younger drivers.

The engine offers a high output as well as an excellent fuel economy of 44.1mpg on the EC Combine Cycle. CO2 emissions are 147g/km and a bespoke exhaust system ensures a sporty note, with a six speed manual transmission fitted as standard.

On awarding the Suzuki Swift Sport for the fifth time, Jim Holder, Editor of What Car? said “The Swift Sport is the epitome of the ‘junior’ hot hatch” and that users can have “masses of fun without fearing for their life or bank balance.” He further went on to say that the “high-revving grippy nature” of the car is its “greatest achievement” along with its “cheap insurance, respectable real-world fuel economy and widely available low monthly finance payments.”
