Nissan has extended their award winning Nissan X-Trail range with the addition of a new 163 HP 1.6-litre DIG-T petrol engine, making it one of the most advanced and fuel efficient vehicles in the SUV segment.
The X-Trail's new four-cylinder petrol engine features advanced turbocharging technology and seamlessly combines sharp performance with low CO2 emissions and exceptional fuel economy.
The new engine is fully compliant with Euro 6 – the latest European emissions legislation which goes into effect this September. The Visia and Acenta models feature impressive fuel consumption figures of 45.6 mpg whilst emitting just 145g/km of CO2, helped by the addition of Start/Stop.
The new engine also provides a slight boost to the X-Trail's performance figure, powering it to a top speed of 124mph with a 0-62mph sprint time of 9.7 seconds. It achieves 163 HP at 5,600rpm and 240NM of torque between 2,000 and 4,000rpm.
These impressive economic and performance figures go a long way to highlighting Nissan's downsizing philosophy, demonstrating that a large capacity engine is not necessary to deliver strong acceleration and in-gear flexibility.
The new engine Nissan X-Trail is available to pre-order now, with orders expected to roll out in September.
