The all-new Honda HR-V and Jazz are the latest two models from Honda to receive the maximum safety rating by independent safety organisation Euro NCAP.
Euro NCAP rating scheme focuses on the overall safety performance of a vehicle which gives an easy to understand single score. The rating considers various aspects of vehicle safety, such as occupant protection, child protection, pedestrian protection and the availability and effectiveness of driver aids.
Demonstrating Honda’s commitment to overall safety both models received an overall five-star rating under the new testing regulations for 2015. The five-star rating for the Jazz means that it’s only the second supermini to achieve the highest five-star rating so far this year.
Both the Jazz and HR-V feature Honda’s City-Brake Active System (CTBA) fitted as standard across the range. Using laser technology, the CTBA system scans the road ahead and automatically applies the brakes if a low speed collision is likely. Both models also feature an array of active-safety technologies for both mid and high grades these include: Advanced Driver Assist System, Forward Collision Warning, Traffic Recognition System, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Lane Departure Warning and High-beam Support System.
The all-new Honda Jazz and HR-V join Honda’s existing five-star line up which include the Swindon produced Civic and CR-V.
