Fiat 500 becomes second UK city car to be powered by turbo diesel

The Fiat 500 has just joined the Fiat Panda as the only city car to be available in UK with a turbo diesel engine.

The 1.3-litre Multijet II 95hp diesel-powered engine fitted into the new Fiat is ideal for drivers who have daily long journeys and are often faced with traffic congestion and limited parking. Business users can also seek the benefit with low tax liabilities and minimal running costs while still enjoying a pleasurable and stylish ride.

Employing sophisticated second-generation MultiJet technology and a variable geometry turbo charger, the New Fiat 500’s 1.3-litre turbo diesel engine produces 95hp at 3,750rpm and 200Nm or torque.

This performance results in the Fiat 500 having quick and responsive gear changes, with the ability to reach 62mph from 0 in just 10.7 seconds, with a top speed of 112mph. Running costs and emissions are kept low thanks to the Fiat 500’s advanced technologies – including a smart alternator, rapid engine warm-up, variable oil pump displacement and Start and Stop. This results in an official fuel economy figure of 83.1mpg and CO2 emissions of just 89g/km.

The Fiat 500 1.3 MultiJet II 95hp engine is available in Pop Star and Lounge Trim levels.
