Abarth Motability

Glyn Hopkin is determined to meet the needs of all motorists in the South East region, which is why we are an official partner of the Motability charity. Through the government-funded Motability Scheme we can provide personalised Abarth cars on a three year lease to disabled drivers in exchange for their mobility benefits.

Many of the cars available on the scheme from Glyn Hopkin Abarth require no advance payment and you can have adaptations made to them to make your life safe and comfortable on the road.

If you receive any of the following mobility benefits and have at least 12 months of award remaining then you could be eligible for the scheme:

  • Higher Rate Mobility Component of Disability Living Allowance;
  • Enhanced Rate of the Mobility Component of Personal Independence Payment;
  • War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement; and
  • Armed Forces Independence Payment.

With no upper age limit on the scheme, absolutely everybody can take advantage and parents with a child aged three years or older can claim on their behalf. Even if you don’t drive you can still get a new car with us as you can have up to three named drivers on the contract (normally family members or carers).

The current range of Abarth cars is perfect for city-based drivers who want maximum efficiency alongside agile handling. When you book an appointment with one of our Motability experts, we will guide you through the full selection of model options and help you choose the right car to match your requirements. We can also take care of the ordering process as well as arranging for any adaptations to be made, most of which can be carried out free of charge.

Benefits of the Motability Scheme include free vehicle servicing during the three year lease as well as complimentary new tyres when needed, windscreen replacements, insurance cover, MOTs and much more.

COVID-19 Update 01/06/2020:

Motability Scheme prices will be available from Thursday 4 June. We are gradually contacting customers who are able to place an application with more information. The Scheme is still closed for new customer applications. See our FAQs for further updates.

Although dealers will begin to gradually reopen in England from 1 June, with social distancing measure in place, weeks of disruption mean we are working through a large backlog of both Motability orders, and sales of returned cars. For this reason, we ask for your understanding as we will need to take a phased approach to reopening the Scheme. Please be reassured that the Scheme will support you where possible to help you remain mobile during this time.

As the COVID-19 situation changes we understand that customers have a number of questions. The Motability Customer Services team is currently dealing with a high volume of calls, so we would ask for your support if you are unable to get through to them as quickly as usual.

We will continue to update this page regularly to ensure we cover the most frequently asked customer questions.

Vehicle handovers and new applications

I placed an application before lockdown, when will the handover of my car go ahead?

Handovers of cars that had already been ordered, have started to arrive at dealerships and are ready for dealers to pass on to customers this will start this week, subject to this being done in a COVID-19 safe environment. When your car is ready to be handed over, your dealer will be in touch with you to make an appointment. We expect that delivery of these pre-ordered cars will continue throughout June and into July.
